Hi, I’m Mei-Hua (she/her)

I help motivated adults who struggle with boundaries in their relationships to discover their authentic voice. I offer a healing space that nurtures self awareness and compassion.

My lens in this healing role invites connection throughout mind, body, and spirit. I approach this work through deep listening to the stories you hold about yourself and your relationships. I believe that your childhood and the foundation of your attachment relationships may inform your current struggles. I also believe in the possibility of changing the patterns in your mind to impart more hope and potential for your future. I work in the present, bringing awareness to the mind, body, and spirit and the here and now of our working relationship. I incorporate Brainspotting, gentle movements, and meditation, and can suggest home practice such as journaling, podcasts, and reading for those who are interested.

I am a daughter and granddaughter of immigrants from Ghana, West Africa and Canton and Shandong China, respectively. I identify with the struggle to honor family ambitions and sacrifices while emerging as an individual with your own hopes and beliefs. I have personally explored the pain of African diaspora, learning what is means to be Black in America and learning to live authentically in a unique experience that is also connected and rooted. In addition to being Black and biracial, I am a mid-sized, able bodied, cis-woman living with a chronic illness. I grew up in the 1980’s and am neurodivergent. I am a wife, an auntie, a little sister, a dog enthusiast and a birder.

I have been practicing therapy since 2012. It has been a sacred privilege to be entrusted in the healing journey with children in schools and group homes; adults in the adoption constellation; adult learners in junior college, law school, business school, and psychotherapy trainees; medical professionals; tech workers; entrepreneurs; people in philanthropy; artists; academics; activists; and immigrants from around the globe.
